Where to eat and drink at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas

Spread the Inspiration

If you’ve ever been to Las Vegas you can’t miss the Venetian on the strip. It’s the casino and resort that brings a touch of Venice, Italy to Nevada. From the grand canal with gondola rides, to the ceiling frescos and marble fountains, it is a glorious representation of Venice. Just walking through the hotel is a spectacle not to miss. The food scene at the Venetian is just as splendid as the atmosphere with an eclectic mix of venues to choose from. There are more than 20 places to eat at the Venetian, so this is by no means an extensive list. But it is some of my favorites.

***I was at the Venetian while COVID restrictions were in place in Nevada. Most of these restaurant require reservations per Nevada mandate and only 4 people can sit a table. I highly suggest making reservations ahead of time, especially for brunch on the weekend.

Lunch

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer

If you’re looking for a good beer and burger this is your place! But it’s also a great place to quench your sweet tooth any time of day with their milkshakes. As a bonus, you get a great view of the strip if you sit outside. There are so many burger options, prime, bison, wagyu, turkey and vegan (impossible burger) all with creative topping choices or build your own. Even though they are known for their burgers, I love the wings. The sauces and toppings on the wings are creative and tasty. My favorite is the Korean BBQ wings with a sweet and tangy sauce and the buttermilk- dill dressing is the perfect dipping sauce. Pair them with the crispy brussels sprouts that are so crunchy you can eat them like potato chips. And wash it down with one of the 40+ craft beers that they offer from all over the country.

Brunch

Yardbird Southern Table

Southern comfort food meets Vegas style. On the weekends they have an amazing brunch. Although you can get a typical omelet or eggs and bacon, don’t do it! There are so many amazing menu options you might need to come here a few days to try them all. The fried green tomato BLT, Maine lobster benedict, smoked salmon avocado toast, and chicken & egg biscuit sandwich top the list. But honestly, everything is amazing. And don’t skip the hand-pressed juices! The tumeric tonic was the perfect drink after a late night. And if you’re looking to spice it up, order one of their bloody mary’s.

SugarCane

Although SugarCane is actually a great option for any meal at the Venetian. I love them for brunch because they have both breakfast and lunch options and the global cuisine can please everyone you are travelling with. SugarCane has a fantastic raw bar for the seafood lovers in your group. The ceviche and poke are great raw bar choices. But if you’re looking for breakfast, the truffled toad in a hole is an updated twist on a classic or try the salmon benedict on sourdough toast instead of muffins.

Dinner

Mercato della Pescheria

Mercato della Perscheria expertly recreates the romance of a Venice street cafe. The highlight of this Italian restaurant is the house-made fettucine pasta and fresh fish. But if you’re not in the mood for a full meal or pasta, they have amazing wood oven pizzas, especially the artichoke pizza with truffle cream and gorgonzola. Your meal isn’t complete without a glass of wine from the extensive list.

Libations

The Dorsey

Just off the casino floor, this is the perfect place for a craft cocktail any time of day. The atmosphere is a hip, upscale, speakeasy and it’s easy to quickly forget that the casino is just steps away. The uniquely crafted cocktail recipes add to the memorable experience that the Dorsey offers. I love trying different cocktails, just as much as new foods. The Penicillin was the perfect “must try” on the menu, crafted by acclaimed mixologist, Sam Ross. It’s tart citrus and ginger flavor was refreshing and bright. And although I know I won’t do it justice, I will try and make this at home.

The Rock House

This a great place to hang-out with friends, watch the game, or even play beer pong. The rock and roll inspired atmosphere lends it-self to the cool, laid back vibes. If you’re looking for lunch or late-night bites they also have a full menu. The adjacent Oak Room has all the same feels, but with a more extensive whiskey menu and specialty cocktails including a punch bowl cocktail for the brave and thirsty. “The bees knees” was more my speed; an old school prohibition era cocktail. The Rock House is really a “something for everyone” kind of bar to hang out in.

There really are too many good options at the Venetian to visit in one trip. If I had one more day I would have gone to Lavo for brunch with a view, Sushisamba for the beautiful food, and the X Pot for the experience. I guess I’m already planning my next trip. If you’ve visited any of these or any of the other restaurants at the Venetian let me know your experience in the comments.
